Common questions

General information, not advice for your situation. Rules and deadlines can change; we confirm what applies to you.

How often should the books be updated?

Monthly for most businesses. It keeps GST/QST filings simple and gives you numbers you can use during the year.

What makes payroll different in Quebec?

Employers remit to both the CRA and Revenu Québec, including QPP and QPIP, and pay employer contributions such as the Health Services Fund. T4 and RL-1 slips are due by the last day of February.

What does an outsourced controller do?

Closes the month, reviews the books, prepares management reports and cash-flow forecasts, and handles the year-end with the auditor or tax preparer, on a part-time basis.
